Lynsey Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 Good day, I just downloaded the Universal Trial on my Macbook Pro. I checked the requirements beforehand and it said I could use OS10.9 or later. Well, I have OS 10.12. I downloaded and installed it only to find it wont work. Why does it state 10.9 as a minimum OS on the system requirement page? So, I decided to come to the forum. I was asked to choose a topic for my query and was forced to use Resources. This was because all of the other appropriate topic were greyed out. Why is this? With these issues, I am not too sure I wish to install Affinity on my new laptop when it arrives on Tuesday. Thank you in advance for your responses. Quote
MikeTO Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 Hi @Lynsey and welcome to the forums. I just checked the macOS App Store and it states that 10.15 is required for Affinity Publisher 2, Photo 2, and Designer 2. Where did you see 10.9? Perhaps you googled it and found the web page for version 1 which states that it works with 10.9. Version 1 is no longer available. If you have a new laptop ordered and on the way this week then you will be able to install version 2 on that laptop. markw Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 That is indeed unfortunate for you but as MikeTO says it will install on your new laptop when you get it. The Serif Store also clearly says that the v2 Affinity apps need macOS 10.15 or higher on their specifications & features page: https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/designer/full-feature-list/ Quote macOS 12.7.6 | 15" Macbook Pro, 2017 | 4 Core i7 3.1GHz CPU | Radeon Pro 555 2GB GPU + Integrated Intel HD Graphics 630 1.536GB | 16GB RAM | Wacom Intuos4 M
Lynsey Posted December 3, 2023 Author Posted December 3, 2023 Thank you, Mark and Mike. I did google specs and that is probably how I got the wrong info. I am going to install it on my iPad today and hopefully open some InDesign files on it and work with them during my free trial. Is it true I only have 2 days to buy to get the discount? I guess my free trial will be really short then? Quote

It ends on December 5, but I'm not sure what time. The trial won't be any shorter than normal but if you wait to buy until after the sale ends, you will pay more. However, if you buy now from the Affinity store you should have a 14 day period after receiving it to get a full refund if you are not happy with it. See for example https://store.serif.com/en-gb/help/#returns or https://store.serif.com/en-us/help/#returns for the details.
