Arviddw Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 I use V1 publisher and sometime my app crashes in MacOS. When opening in designer I get the error, corrupted. Is there a tool to fix this? I tried: Import pages from file (app get terminated) Make a copy of it (same result) Opened in Designer (error that it is corrupted) Is there a tool to fix this? Thanks in advance 00 Goldsetter intro masterclass.afpub Quote
Komatös Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Hi @Arviddw and welcome to the forums. I was able to open the whole document (w/o linked images) via Import pages, but I am using Publisher 2.3 under Windows. Have you saved all the images that are linked in a single folder? If so, rename the folder and try to open the Publisher document again. Arviddw Posted December 2, 2023 Author Posted December 2, 2023 The images are not in a specific folder. And I don't know which files are not linked. Quote
R C-R Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 FWIW, I tried opening the Goldsetter file in APub V1 & got the corrupt message. Then I tried creating a new V1 file & using the Add Pages from File item to see if that would recover anything from it but V1 promptly crashed as soon as I selected the Goldsetter file, so perhaps the staff might want to see if they can figure out anything useful to tell you about recovering any part of it. Arviddw Posted December 2, 2023 Author Posted December 2, 2023 Hi David, Thank you so much, it works. So this must be a MacOS problem. Hope affinity checks this bug out. David in Яuislip 1 Quote
Dan C Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Hi @Arviddw, Welcome to the Affinity Forums & sorry to hear you're having trouble with this file! Inspecting the document shows that there is missing HEX data, which likely is the reason for the corrupted error message showing when attempting to open the file: However I'm a little uncertain why the document crashes in V1 macOS when using Add Pages from File and not on Windows (or macOS V2, interestingly) - therefore I'm logging this with our development team for further investigation. To assist this process, please can you confirm the following: 1. Which Operating System version are you using? 2. Which version of Affinity did the file last get saved in? 3. What drive type was the file last saved to? Local disk USB disk/Flash disk Google Drive folder OneDrive folder iCloud folder Dropbox folder Network location Other (please specify) 4. Any other information you think would help us try to find the problem? Many thanks in advance! Quote
Arviddw Posted December 4, 2023 Author Posted December 4, 2023 1. Which Operating System version are you using? (MacOS 14.1.1) 2. Which version of Affinity did the file last get saved in? (1.10.8) 3. What drive type was the file last saved to? (Local disk) Dan C 1 Quote
Dan C Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Thanks for confirming that for me - I've logged this file with our team using the above information to help our investigations and hopefully reduce the chances of such corruption occurring in the future Quote
