killwilly
Is it possible to create this in AP, if so how do I do it, please?
Staff MEB Posted April 8, 2016 Staff Share Posted April 8, 2016 Hi killwilly, Yes it is. Create a selection around the flower (refine selection if needed), then go to menu Selection ▸ Invert Pixel Selection. Finally add a Black and White adjustment going to menu Layer ▸ New Adjustment Layer ▸ Black & White Adjustment. PixelPest
I guess it´s the same workflow as in AD (I don´t have AP): add an adjustment layer to your color raster image called "Black&White" - and on this layer selected paint back the colors with the eraser - for example: Cheers P. PS: MEB is simply too fast for me. :D
killwilly
Thank you for your prompt reply. I converted this image using Picasa, which I no longer have. I simply converted the colour image to B&W and then brushed away the layer over the flower, revealing the original colour to the flower only. Is there a tutorial in AP which explains this procedure? dhayton
I've created a number of similar images using the technique you describe, convert to B&W and then mask out the adjustment around the central object. In fact, just tweeted one. See this tweet: <https://twitter.com/XVCrosstrek/status/718424648724176896> I'm on my iPad, so I can't post the photo here. dhayton
Sorry, hit submit twice. Can't figure out how to delete this second one, so I'll edit it to draw attention to mistake.
killwilly
I guess it´s the same workflow as in AD (I don´t have AP): add an adjustment layer to your color raster image called "Black&White" - and on this layer selected paint back the colors with the eraser - for example: PartialColoronBWimages.jpg Cheers P. PS: MEB is simply too fast for me. :D Had a quick go at what you suggested, which I think worked quite well. many thanks for your help. PixelPest
If you accidentally erase across the boarder you can paint it back with black - just in the case you didn´t know it already. :D Cheers P.
