AndrewPhoto Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 I use Affinity Publisher to create photobooks. Some spreads are one single image, and I'd like to be able to add 1/4 inch gutter of white space to the inner seam, to avoid losing too much of the image in the binding. Is there a way to split the image between the pages? Quote
Dan C Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Hi AndrewPhoto, One way achieve this and to ensure both sides match would be to duplicate the image over the top of itself, crop one from the left or right and with snap enabled, crop the other image from the opposite side so you have an exact left and right image which can be placed separately. thomaso Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Alternatively to duplicating + cropping images you could use a less elegant but faster way (especially if you have many of these spreads): Create a new Master spread that contains … • a vector rectangle • in page height and 1/2 inch width • placed centred at the spine • with white fill colour (or blend mode "Erase") … and apply this master to the required spreads of the book.
