I. Lavi Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 I am currently using AP V2 ver. 2.3.0. Unfortunately the S/W does not support RAW files taken with SONY modern cameras that can take compressed RAW files (lossless). The idea (of SONY) is to allow storage of more pictures on the memory card while taking RAW compressed files that are smaller in size and still lossless, as shown in the attached menu picture. Is it possible to add this feature to Affinity Photo V2? Thank You Quote
Randomcastle Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 I have same problem with darktable - won't open M or S lossless compressed raw files from my A7iv. I can't see Affinity committing to fixing this (please correct me if wrong) so until they do I won't be upgrading Quote
clarom Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 I have same problem with Nikon Zf raw files( but so this is for Z8 and Z9), High Efficiency* and High efficiency are not open with Affinity 2.5.3. Quote
fde101 Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 Serif's RAW support in the Affinity products generally follows libraw, typically trailing by a few releases. These formats are not supported by libraw, which is why they are not supported by Serif's RAW engine. If you happen to be running on a recent version of macOS, you *may* be able to access these by switching to Apple's RAW engine instead of Serif's, as Photo supports both engines under macOS. Quote
walt.farrell Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 Watch for the 2.6 Beta, which Serif has said should handle the High-Efficiency Compression for the Z8 and Z9 cameras, as they have worked with Nikon to support it. That beta was initially expected to be available already, but some of its new functions in Publisher were more complex than expected, and have delayed the entire release for more internal testing before we get to see it. 1 hour ago, fde101 said: Serif's RAW support in the Affinity products generally follows libraw, typically trailing by a few releases. Serif have improved that, and most recently the supported cameras have been tracking closely to the "extended support" version of LibRaw as shown by what RawDigger supports. eiketre and fde101 1 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
