David Simmer Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 I have used my Affinity applications mostly on my iMac for years. Because of not being able to see what I am doing on the higher resolution display, I need to use the lower resolution settings. The Affinity apps tools and etc are very small and I have to constantly go back a forth to high and lower resolution in order to get anything done. This is not a real big issue with my iMac however, on my MacBook Pro the apps are useless. I can not even use the default setting and see the tool bar or the top bar to close the document. I have to go to the largest resolution setting to see the whole UI. When doing this everything is so small that it is not worth the effort and so the Apps become useless. I was hoping that the update this morning was going to address this problem, but no luck. Please address this issue. Dave Quote
MikeTO Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 Hi Dave, Affinity doesn't react automatically to changes in the display like Apple's apps so you have to ask it to update the display. if parts of the user interface are cut off on your MacBook Pro screen, you should be able to fix it by choosing Window > Zoom from Affinity's menus. Hopefully you're using a display that is at least 1280x768 which is the minimum supported. My 15" MacBook Air can go from 960×600 to 2880×1864 px – which is amazing. Affinity apps can adapt to all of these sizes, but to fit the 960×600 resolution I had to manually select Window → Zoom. Of course, panels will be HUGE then, and the menus may scroll forever… Quote MacBookAir 15": MacOS Sonoma > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 18 > Affinity v2

My eyesight has also degraded, so I use my WQHD-Monitor at FullHD only, but otherwise I activate the Screen Magnifier of MacOS, i.e., Ctrl+MouseWheel. This helps quite well. Quote
PaoloT Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 SwitchResX is a great solution to choose a compromise resolution that can work better with one's eyesight. Paolo Quote
