Hey-yo!

I am working on a book that includes a questionnaire. I created a text frame on the left and included list styles. On the right I have my numbers that I can cruise along and copy and paste to align with the bottom row of each line that is a part of the number list. Sometimes I can cruise along and it automatically aligns to the text if there is a second line (the red line shows up) and then suddenly it stops. No problem snapping on the right side. If I save, close and reopen it seems to work again. Baseline grid and pinning don't seem to apply here (they are off). All text boxes and number text boxes are the same as far as I can tell. I would love to know if I am missing something! Thanks in advance.

And even more curious - I went back to my work after writing this and it's working again, even though I didn't change anything (I only took a screenshot). 🤷‍♀️ Maybe a bug?

Sidenotes would be an easier way to create these sidebar numbers. Change the document-wide note settings for sidenotes to have no marker in the main text or in the note. It makes them hard to select for moving and deleting but you can use a temporary marker in the main text (I use #) and then just remember to delete that before publication. Here's a demonstration:

Get one formatting the way you like and change the document-wide settings to match it. Then copy and paste it for all the others.

Good luck.
