Hello! I had issue with object recoloring in Affinity Photo. I recolour the selected object, take steps back, then correct the selection, and then recolour again. And that’s when such stripes appear. Please tell me how to remove them? Or what am I doing wrong?

Thank you in advance)

Have a nice day!

If you want to correct edit steps later it would be beneficial to use non-destructive workflows.

No need to merge down.

This will allow to edit the mask by brush and time later without undoing or starting masking from scratch.

If you add adjustments layers while a selection is active, the selection will be converted automatically into the mask of the adjustment layer. Don‘t forget to deselect all.

One option could be to fill the area with an according gradient to cover the stripes. Or to redo the process (e.g. Recolour) once more. Or to restart with the original image without merging layers but keeping your edits on separate layers as mentioned by @NotMyFault and thus being able to adjust actions and settings at a later time.

Possibly the stripes do exist in the original image (e.g. as fabric texture) and just seemed to be removed temporarily by the darkening recolour adjustment, while they reappeared by the change of the blend mode?
