MikeTO Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Publisher breaks a line of text after a tab character like Apple Pages instead of before it as in Microsoft Word. A tab at the end of a line doesn't serve a purpose, it's just white space even if it's a dot leader, so it would be great if Publisher could be changed to match MS Word. The reason Microsoft does it this way is presumably for TOCs - if you have TOC headings longer than the line width then you will have to reformat them manually every time you update the TOC. Contrast Publisher (left) and Word (right). dot leader.afpubdot leader.docx I have this issue with my book and I have to reformat my TOC manually every time I update it. I've actually rewritten some section headings to make them shorter to try to reduce the amount of manual reformatting required. Here's another user reporting the issue today: Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.6 for macOS Sequoia 15.5, MacBook Pro (M4 Pro) and iPad Air (M2)
