Publisher breaks a line of text after a tab character like Apple Pages instead of before it as in Microsoft Word. A tab at the end of a line doesn't serve a purpose, it's just white space even if it's a dot leader, so it would be great if Publisher could be changed to match MS Word.

The reason Microsoft does it this way is presumably for TOCs - if you have TOC headings longer than the line width then you will have to reformat them manually every time you update the TOC. Contrast Publisher (left) and Word (right).

I have this issue with my book and I have to reformat my TOC manually every time I update it. I've actually rewritten some section headings to make them shorter to try to reduce the amount of manual reformatting required.
