HI there i was hoping to clip some shapes inside an object and roughen the edges using a textured stroke set to erase to get the attached effect but as soon as i add the shapes inside the object the rough edges disappear.

the same happens on both windows and ios. Is this a known issue? and is there a workaround?

many thanks

I vaguely remember reading somewhere on the forums that this is supposedly "by design".

There is a different workflow. (Vive la différence! ;))

  1. duplicate the shape
  2. give it a solid fill, any color
  3. add a stroke using a rough brush of your choice, not in "erase" blend mode
  4. Layer → Mask To Below

The vector mask will remain fully editable.
