DebSki Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Hi Next challenge. I want to put a gradient fill in a text frame, but going top to bottom not side to side. I can put in a gradient fill, reverse the direction, change the colours & how far across I want the colours to go, but I can't for the life of me work out how to turn it 90 degrees! Ta Quote
KarinC Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Use the gradient tool, (that paint bucket icon) then you can adjust the gradient to any angle you want. Quote
DebSki Posted November 25, 2023 Author Posted November 25, 2023 Can't get that to work with text frame. As far as I can see, gradient fill for text frame is done via text frame button on context tool bar, which gives various options, but I can't see how to change angle of gradient fill Quote
KarinC Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 I missed the part about a text frame. I can't see a way either. I made a rectangle with the gradient at the angle I wanted then turned it into a text frame. There is probably better way. Quote
KarinC Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 I found the answer here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/68353-non-horizontal-linear-gradients-on-text-frame-fill/ Old Bruce 1 Quote

Change from Text to Frame (in the Context Toolbar) whilst using the Gradient Tool. I knew that but completely forgot about it. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

It makes sense so you can have a gradient on the text or the box or both. Quote
