DottorDivago Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 Hello, yesterday I finished a 70-page A4 project using Affinity Publisher with text and images. This afternoon, when I tried to reopen it for review, the document didn't open and displayed an error message saying "the file is being used by another user." I tried copying and pasting it into a new folder, but when I attempted to open it from the new location, the document stated "This file type is not supported." I restarted my computer, but the situation remained the same. I'm attaching the corrupted document for you to see if you can provide me with any clarification or assistance. MikeTO Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 I tried to open it and add pages from it to another document and got the same error message as you. I don't know what to suggest. R C-R Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 I tried just opening the file in APub V2 & after showing "Loading" for well over a minute it finally showed the 'unsupported' error message. DottorDivago Posted November 26, 2023 Author Posted November 26, 2023 The same thing happened to me too. I found this file in the same folder as the corrupted file. quinto capitolo Occhio Pittore.afpub~lock~ Quote
pruus Posted November 26, 2023 Posted November 26, 2023 Could you try to open it in Designer? The file mentioned by @DottorDivago has 0 bytes, so empty. There has something gone wrong when saving. Quote
Staff Lee D Posted November 27, 2023 Staff Posted November 27, 2023 @DottorDivago I've tried a few different methods to recover the file, but so far nothing has worked. They may of been corrupted during the last save. Do you have a backup that you can revert to? See this FAQ article for more information on ~lock~ files, as these are a recently added feature. Quote
