Publisher: Embed small Video / Audio files

Recommended Posts

What are the chances of being able to embed small video and audio in a future version for PDF export?

Since switching to Publisher I always settled on adding a thumbnail and faux play button linking to an external video, but Acrobat Reader has supported playback of common video formats since 2012, and increasingly I find end users just expect this functionality, regardless of how pretty I can make a screenshot and faux-play button look when linking to an external video.

I'm not talking about video the length of The Irishman and 2GB pdf, just something sensible like a maximum of 10-15mb MPEGs served as MP4.

Zero. At least that is my guess, the future goes on for a really long time.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.2
Affinity Designer 2.3.1 | Affinity Photo 2.3.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.3.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

I also look forward to Publisher allowing me to embed at least mp3 and Quicktime movie files for readers to click on and enjoy. And to be able to include these files in conversion to a pdf is crucial. These are the only things holding me back from purchasing this software now.
