Actually it happens in all three Affinity apps.
And it gets more noticeable if you start to push things in higher dpi documents!

My impression is that this is simply how the actual math of the pressure profile works.

  • To reduce the effect quickly, reverse the presure profile:

  • To soften the sharp edge, add nodes to make the start and end curves smooth:

And if you need a geometrically regular curve, simply join two circles.
In other words – as you seem to be working on a "geometrically clean" logo – using stroke pressure is apparently not the adequate tool to get the desired results. It serves a different purpose. :)
