abra100pro Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 Hi I have a circle with a simple pressure on its stroke. The result has some unwanted irregularities in it. Quote
markw Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 Actually it happens in all three Affinity apps. And it gets more noticeable if you start to push things in higher dpi documents! My impression is that this is simply how the actual math of the pressure profile works. To reduce the effect quickly, reverse the presure profile: To soften the sharp edge, add nodes to make the start and end curves smooth: Quote MacBookAir 15": MacOS Sonoma > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 18 > Affinity v2
abra100pro Posted November 28, 2023 Author Posted November 28, 2023 @loukash interesting approach – I can see the idea behind it. Quote
loukash Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 And if you need a geometrically regular curve, simply join two circles. In other words – as you seem to be working on a "geometrically clean" logo – using stroke pressure is apparently not the adequate tool to get the desired results. It serves a different purpose.
