Help! I'm not able to add a space between words.

The app crashes every time I press the spacebar to add space between words. This happened on Affinity Photo and Publisher as well. I haven’t tried to see if this problem persists in Designer yet. Please help me. I don’t know if it’s a bug or something else.

Could you upload a sample Affinity Photo or Publisher document demonstrating the crash and ideally make a quick screen recording showing your full screen with you attempting to add a space between words...

1. Is this happening with Frame Text or Artistic Text?
2. Does this happen with all documents or only specific files?
3. Which version of macOS are you using?
4. Which font are you using?
5. Is the font you're using when you experience the crash a static or variable font?

@Hangman Hi,

I have attached the screen recording as requested. The app doesn’t crash every time. The work area is highlighted whenever I press the spacebar. However, when I press shift + spacebar, I'm able to create a space as usual. Wonder what's wrong.

1. Is this happening with Frame Text or Artistic Text? Both

3. Which version of macOS are you using? Mac Os Sonoma 14.1.1
4. Which font are you using? It happened to many fonts
5. Is the font you're using when you experience the crash a static or variable font? I'm not sure

Hi @Elisheba,

If you go to the 'System Preferences' on your Mac then to 'Accessibility', locate 'Keyboard' in the list and then Uncheck 'Enable Full Keyboard Access', that should resolve the issue for you...
