EatMoreBacon Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 If I have a Data Merge Layout for the main body of the page, can I use a separate data Merge for the heading on the page? I need 7 instances of the data Merge for the main body so I use data Merge layout. But I only want one instance of the heading... Quote
Old Bruce Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 I am not entirely sure of what you are wanting. If your desired "heading" is in the records in your spreadsheet/CSV file then place that field outside of (above) the "Data Merge Layout" layer in the Layers panel. EatMoreBacon Posted November 22, 2023 Author Posted November 22, 2023 What confuses me is how does Affinity decide which Data Merge to do first? If there is more than one Data Merge Layout, the record offset has to be set to -n If i put the heading in a separate data merge (not data merge layout) can I set a record offset on that as well? Does this work for you? To me the separate frame remains part of the flow and data merge creates the records within the "Data Merge Layout" layer and then continuous with the separate frame for the header (instead of starting with its content of its first cell). For instance: In the generated file the first 'header' gets its content from where the DM-Layout frames ended, i.e.: layout: A, B, C, D -–> header: E.
