Expand stroke problems

Can you attach the file with just the element that's failing to expand please? Thank you.

Sorry but I modified the file and find it in the history is difficult, You can create a circle with thick line and broke it with lines tool, after use expand stroke tool

This sort of thing is sometimes caused by coincident nodes (doubles) or nodes very very close to each other. Take a look at the curve while you have the curve tool selected and zoom in to see if there are two nodes very very close together, try moving the nodes with the node tool to check for coincident nodes.
