Lustu Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Hello everyone, I have a question regarding the transparency tool. Is there a way to make curved transparency? For example to create a transparency effect that follows a curve as in my attached example. (Including a more complex curve with multiple angle changes.) thanks in advance. Quote
Staff MEB Posted November 20, 2023 Staff Posted November 20, 2023 Hi @Lustu, Welcome to Affinity Forums Change the transparency Type to Elliptical in the context toolbar and adjust the handles accordingly. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Lustu Posted November 20, 2023 Author Posted November 20, 2023 Hi @MEB thank you for your answer. unfortunately with the elliptical tool it only works if there is only one curve, but with several changes of direction of the curve it no longer works (see attachment)... Quote
Staff MEB Posted November 20, 2023 Staff Posted November 20, 2023 Hi @Lustu, Unfortunately there's no functionality/tool specifically for this. You have to find a creative way to get there using for example an FX gaussian blur effect on a duplicated object scaled down with the Contour tool or similar. I've requested internally a feather function for vector objects to be able to create these type of transparency and gradients but no luck yet. Lustu 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
carl123 Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Hard to tell from your initial screenshot what you want to apply this to but maybe a Textured Line Style for the stroke could be made to work.
