Mike Christelow Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Hi, I'm new to Publisher and liking it very much, though it's still a good learning curve. Recently, something happened which has caused multiple instances of the same embedded object (it's a "chapter end" flourish) to stop being visible. The objects are all still there where I placed them and appear in the Layer panel for the appropriate pages, plus the transform handles are present if I double click the object. BUT - the object will not appear, it has become invisible and I don't know what I did (if anything, though I'm sure it will have been me) to make every instance of the object become 'white on white'. Any suggestions? TIA Quote

What colour space is your .afpub and what the file type and colour space is the image file? Can you upload a screenshot with the transparency grid activated, and/or with a rectangle with fill colour placed at the bottom of your layers panel and partially positioned behind the object in question to make its white content visible? Does the image appear if you apply a fill colour to it? Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
Mike Christelow Posted November 20, 2023 Author Posted November 20, 2023 Hi Thomaso, Thanks for coming back to me. I have subsequently discovered that the invisible object becomes visible at a greater degree of zoom, as per the attached examples. It was not behaving this way when I started out, so I think I have done something 'global' or at least document wide. The object itself is a .png file (also attached) which is transformed down to height of 2mm. MikeC Quote
thomaso Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 I can't reproduce in V1 your issue with this PNG. To me it gets displayed in your used size of 28% (@300dpi) even at a view zoom level of 15%. Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
thomaso Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 In your screenshot it seems the PNG got converted to Curves and its fill got removed (resulting in an empty rectangle) while it's currently selected with the Node Tool and thus reported as "Node" in the upper left corner of the Context Toolbar: … If I convert this PNG to curves it shows the image as bitmap fill: Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
