Digby
Hello I am having blocking issues when I use colour overlay to create shadows. I use overlay effect then use perspective layer to get the shadow to look right and then reduce occupancy of layer. Basically part of the would be shadow are missing. is their another way to do this without this effect happening? I would upload an image but I keep getting an error500 message. Staff MEB Posted April 5, 2016 Staff Share Posted April 5, 2016 Hi Digby, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) There's a few restrictions in place for news users to avoid spam which is probably why you are not yet able to upload files. It should work after a few posts. Meanwhile if you use Dropbox or a similar cloud service you can post/share a link to the file. Alternatively you can use this link to upload your afphoto file (you can delete all the other layers leaving just the ones which display the issue) to my Dropbox account and i will attach it to your post. Staff MEB Posted April 5, 2016 Staff Share Posted April 5, 2016 Thanks Digby, I've attached your file to your first post. This is due to a rendering bug with Live Filters/FX effects. I'm logging this to be looked at. Meanwhile i've tried to transform the shadow layer into a selection to fill it with black and work from there but apparently the issue remains even after i delete all selection content (even after rasterising the layer previously). Still looking into it. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference
Digby
Thanks for looking into it... yeah the effect changes depending on how zoomed in to it you are... is their another way to create shadows? Look forward to the software update that fixes this...
