初见设计 Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 There are Chinese and English in a paragraph, can there be a font style that allows Chinese and English to use different fonts respectively. Quote
thomaso Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Every single text style uses one font only. But possibly you can create a Character Style for one of the two languages + apply this to the related text inside your paragraph. Then all text could have one Paragraph Style assigned but could appear with a quite different font where it got the Character Style assigned additionally. Apart from that, there are various fonts that contain both Chinese + Latin characters for English (… and other scripts/languages). Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1

If all you want is to change the fonts then make a Paragraph Style, name it Basic Text and set the font to the one you want for the English text. Now make a Character Style and name it Chinese Font and set it to the font you want to use for the Chinese text. Put in all the text using the Paragraph Style Basic Text and [No Style] is set for the Character Style. Now go and highlight the chinese text and apply the Chinese Font Character Style. You can set up and use Keyboard shortcuts to switch to the Chinese Font Character Style to make things go quicker.
