I want to remove an area from a pixel layer.

I've created a vector layer and used the pen tool to create a curve, delineating the area that I want to preserve.

Now I want to take the next steps, which I believe are :

* transforming the curve to a selection

* switching to the pixel layer

* Inverting the selection

* Deleting the selected area from the pixel layer

However, I can't find information on how to convert a curve to a selection in Affinity Designer 2.

How can I do this?

In the Pixel Persona, CTRL+Click on the curve's layer thumbnail

If I switch to Pixel Persona then the curve becomes unusable.

The blue lines that describe it on the screen disappear. It can't be manipulated.

I’ve attached a video showing one method (done crudely).

IMPORTANT: The layer must be a Pixel Layer, not an Image Layer, for this to work.

Note: When I jiggle the mouse over the Pixel Layer thumbnail, that’s when I use Ctrl+click, as mentioned by carl123, to make the pixel selection.

Note: Remember to select the Pixel Layer before removing the extraneous pixels (using Delete/Cut).

Note: I use “Edit → Cut” near the end, rather than pressing the Delete key, because it shows better in the video.

IMPORTANT: If your shape only has a Stroke and no Fill then the pixel selection made will only contain the pixels where the Stroke is visible. The pixel selection comes from the visible pixels in the shape/curve, not the outline (unless it only has an outline).
