joaopvilla Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Hey folks! I hope you are all doing well today! I'm evaluating Affinity, and I would like to know if it's possible to, like in InDesign, create a book layout template and then import a document (docx or whatever format) and layout it according to the template, so I don't need to manually layout the book, just look through it and fix anything that might be odd. Is that possible? If so, how do I do it? How do I create a template and then import content to it? Thanks for your help! Cheers, J. Quote
Komatös Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Hi @joaopvilla and welcome to the forums. Please have a look the Samples. If activated you'll find the samples at the start screen. If not, go to Help -> My Account. There is the ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND. You can clean up the pages and save it as template. Or you design your own document and save it as template too. joaopvilla Posted November 7, 2023 Author Posted November 7, 2023 @Komatös, amazing! Thanks for your answer! And how do I import a document to follow that template later on? Is just importing normally? Quote
Komatös Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 @joaopvilla, to import choose Place from File Menu. MikeW Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 But do note there is currently no means of mapping styles, alarms InDesign. Which I think you were inquiring about. Quote
