Hi! When having troublesome files, the option to auto-open last projects can be a PITA.

I thought opening a file directly from explorer (win) would override (not open others), but it seems that is not the case.

Please make some options for a clean app-opening if needed.

Thanks!

You can do that by holding Ctrl while starting the application. One of the top options in the Clear User Data menu is to not reopen files.

You can also set it in your application Settings, and on Mac I believe you can set it system-wide.

In addition to Walt's hints: Document's that you close before quitting the app do not get reopened.

• MacBookPro Retina 15" |  macOS 10.14.6  | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
• iPad 10.Gen.  |  iOS 18.5.  |  Affinity V2.6

Thanks! The issue is: Documents that crash before hard close do reopen :)

and documents that are closed before app crash is also reopened.

If you don't get the "restore" option dialog when relaunching Affinity then you could prevent them from reopening by manually removing them from the Affinity "autosave" folder before relaunching the crashed app. The "autosave" folder is in the same parent Affinity folder where also the folder "temp" and your user preferences are stored (i.e. folders like "user", "presets").

Nice to know if things gets really bad.
