Hello. Maybe I pressed something, maybe it is a bug, but I have color background behind any new text. (Artistic and Frame.)

The background is smaller than this which you can set in Character Panel.

The text itself do not have any styles nor decorations applied.

When resetting defaults in document in (Edit Tab) and reverting text to defaults, color background stays.

I am using newest version of Designer - 2.2.1.

It is just back to normal itself, while creating another new text. 🤨

Do you still have a copy of this document showing the above issue? If so are you able to attach this here for me?

Thanks in advance :)

No problem at all, thanks for letting me know!

I suspect this property was applied to your text after being copy & pasted from an external source. You can use Edit > Paste Without Format to avoid this in the future.

The background applied to the text in your first screenshot is controlled through the Text Frame Studio, which is only available in Affinity Publisher at this time.

This Studio applies a slightly different background colour setting to the text compared to when using the Character Studio.

This Text Frame Fill property can be pasted into Affinity Designer (either with text from Publisher, or other third party apps), but requires the Text Frame Studio in Publisher to directly control this setting.

As above if you paste any text without formatting, you shouldn't see this occur. I hope this clears things up :)
