rui_mac Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 If I have several layers inside a group and I apply an adjustment (for example, Levels) to the top layer, if I press Merge in the adjustment dialog, I expect that the layer below it (the one that was selected prior choosing the adjustment) gets selected. Instead, the one on the bottom of the layer gets selected. Quote
rui_mac Posted November 3, 2023 Author Posted November 3, 2023 Actually, the layer that is affected is only the last one. If I'm seeing the effect of the adjustment to the top layer (of course, since it is hiding all the ones below it), when I press Merge, I don't expect it to affect the layer at the bottom. Quote
NotMyFault Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 It affects the first pixel layer below the selected layer. all other non-pixel layers between are ignored. This is explicitly mention in help: https://affinity.help/photo2/English.lproj/pages/LayerOperations/merge.html To merge a layer with a pixel layer below: On the Layers panel, -click a layer and select Merge Down. The selected layer merges with the first available pixel layer beneath it. Any non-pixel layer existing between the layers to be merged will not be included in the merge. It would be wise to at least consult the official help before posting bug reports.
