jim-gbd Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 We are trying to do Fine Art Giclee Printing on an Epson 9800 Stylus Pro printer with Affinity Photo 2. Your print dialog does not seem to accept edge to edge printing. It either cuts off images or forces scaling (red box or red lines). Where can we find instructions or information that will allow us to to print on large format roll paper properly with Affinity Photo 2? Quote
walt.farrell Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. What OS are you using? Have you considered Exporting to PDF, and printing from a PDF viewer? walt.farrell Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 Also, what kind of media (paper) are you specifying? Can you successfully print on that paper, borderless, in roll format with other applications? We printed successfully for years with Adobe Photoshop CS6 with no special workarounds. *** The issue is specifically with the Affinity Photo Print Dialog Box. It has a red borderline showing where it's going to cut off our image. It does cut the image off even though the size has been set correctly. I doesn't seem to understand borderless printing. It seems to insist on an outside margin even though the Epson Driver does not require one. Quote
walt.farrell Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 Thanks. And the OS? And have you tried Exporting to PDF and printing from a PDF viewer? The Affinity applications, as far as I know, use the standard OS print dialog (as provided by the print driver), but I think Photoshop may provide its own. stokerg 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Staff stokerg Posted November 3, 2023 Staff Posted November 3, 2023 Hi @jim-gbd, Affinity does understand borderless printing, as long as it's been enabled in the Print driver. For example, on Windows, when I print from a Canon borderless printer we have here in the office, I call up the Print window in Affinity and click on the Properties button next to the printer name and tick the box for Borderless printing and Affinity honours that. If I don't then Affinity honours what the print driver is set to. @walt.farrellis correct and we use the standard OS print dialog, so make sure you have borderless enabled at the driver level and this should just work. walt.farrell 1 Quote
