ajwwong Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 I can't seem to make the curve thicker at the top. It seems to work with new line objects, but not a curve I've already created. Is there a way to select a curve and then make it thicker? Thanks for your thoughts! https://www.loom.com/share/215dea59ebe0456d946842c4637e4774 8x10 Final PRESS 103123.afpub Quote
walt.farrell Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 You have a Path Text object, not a Curve. That is, you had a Curve, and you added Text to it, so it is no longer a curve. You can increase the overall width of the path using the Text Frame panel, but I don't think you can apply a pressure curve to get a variable thickness. You might have to go back in History to before you converted the Curve, adjust it, then recreate the Path Text. ajwwong 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. ajwwong Posted November 1, 2023 Author Posted November 1, 2023 Thanks! That makes sense! Appreciate the feedback. 🙂 Quote
thomaso Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 To me it appears to work to edit the pressure profile of a curve that contains path text. In the pressure profile: First move both nodes to the bottom, then drag the curve in the middle upwards to create a new node. If you want to move the start/end node independently press the required modifier key (on mac it is the Option key). ajwwong and walt.farrell 1 1 Quote • MacBookPro Retina 15" | macOS 10.14.6 | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1 • iPad 10.Gen. | iOS 18.5. | Affinity V2.6

Thanks for mentioning that. I did not see a way to do that, but I was on my iPad at the time. I'll have to go back and see if I just missed it somewhere Edit: The pressure graph (and arrow-head) information is more hidden in the Text Frame UI on the iPad, but it is present if one looks hard enough.
