Raymondo Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Ok here’s a problem which may be easily solved but at the moment I can’t get to the bottom of it. In publisher the bounding box and handles keep disappearing. I select a box either text or picture and the bounding box and handles appear. Next time I go to select it, the bounding and handles don’t appear. I can see in the layers panel that the box is selected but I can’t see the box or handles. If I select text tool and pull out a text box I can’t see the boundary box or handle but I know it has drawn out a box because I can see it in the layers panel. Anybody got any ideas what might be happening. I’ve looked in preferences etc but can’t drill down to see anything wrong. I’m sure it’s something simple but right now it’s driving me potty as I can’t create anything in publisher with it like this. Could it be a bug as I’ve updated to the latest update that came up on launch. Quote

I think there was a similar and acknowledged bug report just recently. Raymondo Posted October 31, 2023 Author Posted October 31, 2023 Thanks for replies but it’s not the scroll bar that’s the issue, it's both the bounding text or picture box and handles I’m having problems with. If you go to the text tool or picture tools and draw out on your page, you usually see the drawn box line with handles. I can’t see them, that is to say I initially see them but if I go to another page and then back again the bounding line and handles no longer appear, nor can I select anything in that box weather it’s text or a picture. I’m not sure if that’s clear enough but I can’t think how else to explain it. It seems like some kind of corruption. I’m wondering if maybe if I delete my current publisher software and download again it might clear. Failing all else I will probably do that. Quote

How are you getting to the other pages? When you can't see the bounding boxes or handles, does clicking View>Zoom>Zoom In, bring them back? Can you also confirm you are still on MacOS? Quote
Raymondo Posted October 31, 2023 Author Posted October 31, 2023 I think I see where you are coming from now. I think you might be right it could be something to do with the scroll bar. Just been trying to use publisher now but it’s all but unusable. I’m using latest Ventura version not sonoma. Mostly getting to selected page via pages tab. Haven’t tried zooming in, will do that and come back Quote
Raymondo Posted October 31, 2023 Author Posted October 31, 2023 Yep! Can confirm zooming in and out again does indeed bring them back. Now where do I go from here I ask myself. This surely has to be a bug, am I right! Are others experiencing this. Quote

All you can do when this happens is zoom in and out and they will return. Quote
Raymondo Posted October 31, 2023 Author Posted October 31, 2023 Yeah, thanks for feedback. At least I know what it is now. Thanks again. Quote
