hi all,

I am on MAX OS Monterey (Latest) + M1 pro ( I can not upgrade MAC OS due to some other apps I use, until they are supporting the latest MACOS release)

I need to reinstall Affinity Photo every now and then. One day it works the other day it starts but it is not displaying the canvas.  After reinstalling it works, but this is not really workable. I need to redo all the changes I made etc.

What can be the cause?  Anyone experiencing this?

Cheers,

Hi @Focus9,

When this next happens instead of immediately re-installing I would suggest disabling Metal acceleration (last checkbox) under the app settings > performance, restarting the app and then seeing if the canvas becomes visible. If not I would then additionally change the 'Display' setting to 'OpenGL' and restart to measure if that has an impact.

If it still persists, if you could then send a screen recording/screenshot which shows the canvas issue that would be helpful.

Many thanks!
