Bushy Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 In Publisher (2.2) is it possible to set child layers so that they inherit visibility from the parent. I have a number of circular designs for which it is helpful to use a series of concentric circles as guides. I would like to group these under a parent layer and have their visibility inherited from the parent so I only need to toggle the parent layer visibility to hide/unhide them all. Quote
walt.farrell Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 If the parent is a Group or a Layer layer it should work as you want. And if you need this in multiple pages, they could be in a Master Page applied to the relevant document pages, and then turning the parent's visibility off on the Master Page would affect all the document pages that have that Master applied. walt.farrell Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 But recordings are useful, too. Thanks! Bushy Posted October 30, 2023 Author Posted October 30, 2023 (edited) Thank you both. It is working as expected now; for some unknown reason the child layers were staying visible when the parent layer was hidden, but having set each one invisible individually, I can now control the visibility with the parent.
