I would like to have a puppet transformation in the set of tools for transforming raster objects. Just in case, I explain the essence.

For a bitmap object, a mesh is made that repeats exactly the boundaries of the object. You can set points inside the mesh to bend the object. And then you can already move parts of the object, such as the limbs of a puppet. It is very convenient to transform only certain parts of the bitmap object and not affect the rest based on the specified bend points.

With the current tools, this cannot be done as it happens in Photoshop.

Unfortunately in Affinity Photo mesh for a transformation object is always standard and square. It does not fill the object itself and does not take into account its boundaries and features. And you can't add points to bend there.

I consider this a significant omission.image.thumb.png.e2a1053d63fd6b366fdb9daf3242b075.png

Agreed.  I'd like to see more options for transformation than just Mesh Warp and Perspective Warp, like skew, distort, etc.
If there are more options than the two I mentioned, I'd like to know how to access them.

Take a look at the large set of options on the ‘Filters > Distort’ submenu, and the smaller set under ‘Layer > New Live Filter Layer > Distort’.
