Hi, I just started some experiments with the creation of own LUTs and I saw a strange phenomenon. When I used the default name (proposed by Affinity) for the LUT, the LUT worked will in Affinity Photo.However, when I used a customised name for the LUT the LUT didn't work in Affinity Photo but it worked on another frontend (e.g. DXO ). I fear it's a strange user mistake but I didn'T find any solution yet. Is there anybody her who had a similar experience?

Many thanks

I’ve just tested this:

  1. Create a new LUT Category via the Adjustment Panel;
  2. Import a LUT with the default name;
  3. Rename the LUT;
  4. Apply the LUT.

And it all works for me on Windows 10 – see attached video.

If this is not working for you, or you are doing something else, then we might need to see a video of what’s happening or at least get more details about what steps you are taking to do what you want.

Hi, I just checked your workflow an renaming in the LUT Adjustment panel works well.

I've no glue why it doesn't work under File -> Export Lut but you way is a good workaround for me...

Thank you very much !

You’re welcome.

I’ve just tested this:

  1. Open an image;
  2. Apply an Adjustment (Posterise);
  3. Menu “File → Export LUT…”;
  4. Change the Title and export;
  5. Remove Adjustment layer;
  6. Add new LUT Adjustment via the Layers Panel;
  7. Load saved LUT.

And all looks fine there too.

If you can supply a document that you are creating the LUT from, and tell us which Title you are giving it (and other settings), then we can test it for ourselves.

Hello,

I think I found my mistake. The LUT Export will ignore adjustment layers which are assigned to a specific pixel layer. When all adjustments are put "on top" it works as expected (which makes sense when thinking about it....).

Many thanks for your help!

Best Regards

Thanks for letting us know! I would still expect these nested Adjustment layers to be considered when exporting your LUT, so I'm getting this logged with the development team now :)
