indiana-jonas Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 I've been having this really annoying bug lately that causes me to sometimes not be able to erase pixels on a pixel layer. I found that I'm not able to erase until the brush preview is visible (the shape of the brush on the canvas). It seems like the preview doesn't appear until I'm hovering with the center of the brush over pixels (i.e the mouse position). Sometimes, but more rarely the same phenomenon/issue occurs when I use the brush tool. I'm unable to put down any pixels in a certain area. It feels related but I cannot tell you how to reproduce it. I'll give an update on that if I notice. I'm on Affinity Photo V2.2.1, with MacOS 14.0. Using a Wacom Intuos. I've attached two video examples. erasing bug videos.zip Quote
Staff MEB Posted October 27, 2023 Staff Posted October 27, 2023 Hi @indiana-jonas, Welcome to Affinity Forums Have you tried do the same with a mouse? Does it behave the same way? If you go to Preferences, User Interface section and disable "Show brush previews" does it still lag for you when you use the Wacom? Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

It acts exactly the same when I use the mouse. Disabling "show brush previews" removed the issue (nice to have brush previews though). This will make it easier to work! Thanks! Quote
indiana-jonas Posted October 27, 2023 Author Posted October 27, 2023 Actually never mind, it worked at first, but I think it might actually have been because I restarted Affinity Photo. The issue is back now even though the brush preview is back. Maybe I did something along the way to trigger it? Quote
