Affinity Designer 2 crashing instantly when trying to copy a text-box or a graphic element - Mac Book Pro 15 (2019)

Hi all,

im using affinity designer 2 since one year and had a few minor troubles however everything is still going great and I really enjoy working with it.

Since today, I'm having a big problem. Every time when I'm copying a simple text field or a graphic element (basically anything) it's just crashing - it is not responding anymore. What I tried to fix it:

- obviously shutting down & starting the laptop again
- tried on another affinity designer file (smaller file) - still happens
- deinstalled and installed affinity

The report after the crash only says " the program didn't respond in 97 seconds".

How can I fix that? Any suggestions?

Thank you
Lydia

Are you using any clipboard enhancement system utility, e.g. something that allows multiple clipboards or clipboard history? That can often be the culprit in similar scenarios.

I just deleted my whole clipboard history

Since MacOS doesn't have any clipboard history built in, you are apparently using such a utility. :)

For example, I'm using Keyboard Maestro which has a clipboard history feature. In its preferences I can exclude apps from making use of the history. In fact, the one app I had to exclude is Affinity Photo, because certain clipboard content was causing troubles.
That's why I was asking.
