MikeTO Posted October 25, 2023 Posted October 25, 2023 The Strikethrough command is incorrectly named Strikeout in the Text > Character Traits menu. It's named Strikethrough everywhere else - in the Character panel, Edit Text Style, and Find. FYI, you might want to add to the report that there is one other place where Strikeout is used instead of Strikethrough; the tooltip for the strikethrough/strikeout icon In the tab stop popup. Staff Affinity Info Bot Posted November 14, 2023 Staff Posted November 14, 2023 The issue "[Win] Text > Character Traits shows Strikeout. Other references in app shows as Strikethrough" (REF: AF-896) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.3.0.2139". This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release. Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions. If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us. Quote
MikeTO Posted November 16, 2023 Author Posted November 16, 2023 On the Windows bug fix list: > Text > Character Traits shows Strikeout. Other references in app shows as Strikethrough [AF-896] I'm not seeing a change on macOS so perhaps Windows was changed to match macOS? But then the original inconsistency remains: Text > Character Traits > Strikeout Character panel > Decorations > Strikethrough (and referred to as such in Help) Edit Text Styles > Colour & Decorations > Strikethrough I know Strikeout is what it's called in OpenType, but Apple, Microsoft, and Adobe call it Strikethrough. Hangman Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Strikeout is simply the incorrect term... Strikeout - An instance or the act of yielding nothing, used in baseball when a pitcher throws any combination of three swinging or looking strikes to a hitter. Strikethrough - A typographical presentation of words with a horizontal line drawn through every letter, essentially showing cancellation.
