Gradients in Designer

I want to put a linear gradient on some text fill. The text linear gradient tool defaults to a side to side gradient, but I want a top to bottom gradient – how can I do this top to bottom gradient on a text fill?

If you use the Gradient Tool you can adjust the start and end position for the gradient as desired...

Thanks for reply. I have used the gradient tool many times, but ... you demonstrate exactly what the problem is: your gradient goes side to side!! (in your case, red on left, to blue on right, side to side). I want the gradient to go top to bottom instead.

As it does once you adust the start and end nodes... there is also a rotate gradient button adjacent to the gradient swatch in the context toolbar...
