tombro Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 I'm sure this issue has been mentioned before, but I haven't seen any updates to it. I am unable to open files from my TrueNAS fileserver. I get a message saying that the file is locked. Affinity apps are the only ones I have found with this issue. macOS Big Sur 11.7.10 TrueNAS-13.0-U5.3 Quote
tombro Posted October 20, 2023 Author Posted October 20, 2023 (edited) Yeah, but the file isn't locked, that's the issue. I'm the only user. There isn't any lock file either. Edit: Actually, just checked and there is a lock file created when it's opened and it's not deleted when it closes. It suggests that Affinity is misidentifying the user… Edited October 20, 2023 by tombro Further information. Obscured 1 Quote
Staff DWright Posted October 23, 2023 Staff Posted October 23, 2023 The lock files should be removed when the file is closed or after 5 minutes of inactivity, does your NAS software have a delayed sync setting when opening and closing files. Quote
tombro Posted October 23, 2023 Author Posted October 23, 2023 Not that I'm aware of. It doesn't have this issue with any other application. It seems as if Affinity creates the lock file, then sees there's a lock file and refuses to open it. I'm guessing it thinks that it's a different user's lock file. Quote
tombro Posted February 4, 2024 Author Posted February 4, 2024 I've just upgraded one of my Macs to Monterey and it now works fine, so it's a Catalina/Big Sur issue by the looks of it. Quote
