walt.farrell Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 If you used the MSIX version it would happen automatically. That's one of the benefits and reasons that Serif decided to use that technology for V2. The EXE versions continue to work as they did in V1. But perhaps they wll consider doing that for the EXE, too. Latens Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Especially because the big download button is for the msix versions And the exe is a tiny link. It should be directed to the used version imo (I still have a feeling that Serif is forcing the msix upon us because MS wants this) bures 1 Quote .

And that would be my preferred implementation as it leaves the developers more time to do other functions that are more important and benefit all users. Make the download links point to a page per version aka a page for the exe version and a page for the msix version. Make the download link in the programs directly (download) the exe or the msix version installers instead of linking to a webpage. Quote .

I said "that complex", in comparison to simply adjusting the web page that Download directs you to. The EXE for V2 is working the same, other than needing to make a choice, as the EXE for V1. I don't remember seeing requests for this change to V1, at least none saying it was "required". I may have missed them, of course. But to me, the issue is with having to make the choice, so I'm proposing the simpler fix for that. This is not the case because 1. you need to create two download pages - one for msix and one for exe (because no matter how big or identical the buttons are, it will be confusing for many users). 2. Write lines of code in each version to go to the appropriate page. In the case I'm suggesting, you don't even need to create a page. The files can be on the server and the program will download them from there. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version) Quote
