JamesFryer Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 A couple of days ago Designer became really slow when dragging control points when I have snapping enabled. This only occurs when snapping is enabled and when working with files that have a lot of shapes, it does not occur with smaller files or when snapping is off. System is Mac mini M1 running macOS Sonoma 14 and Affinity Designer 2.2 Weirdly, this seems to have coincided with extensions in Safari going all wonky. The extensions Ghostly and 1Password both kept throwing up warning notifications. I checked my system as best I could, but everything looks ok. I have attached one of files in which this behavior occurs as well as a screen recording, screenshot of the "Snapping timed out", and a screen shot of my snapping settings. The files that I'm having problems with started in another app and I imported the shapes as SVGs. To reiterate, I had no problems with these files until a couple of days ago when the problem seemed to spontaneously arise. Turning snapping off is simple workaround for now, but it would be nice to have snapping back. Screen Recording 2023-10-16 at 10.11.35 AM.mov go-skull2.afdesign Quote

Completely solved the problem. I must have enabled that at some point without knowing what I was doing. Thanks for the help! lepr 1 Quote
