Astrogeezer Posted October 15, 2023 Posted October 15, 2023 Hi, I'm trying to load StarSpikes Pro 4 into Affinity Photo v2. Affinity does not recognize the files. I did try to load the 64 bit files. Please let me know how to do it. Thanks in advance. https://www.prodigitalsoftware.com/StarSpikesPro4.html Quote
walt.farrell Posted October 15, 2023 Posted October 15, 2023 I'm not sure what you mean by "Affinity does not recognize the files", nor what you've done to try to install it. It seems to install automatically for Affinity Photo V1, and puts its ProDigitalSoftware directory into C:\ProgramData\Affinity\Photo\1.0\Plugins but that's not the right place for Photo 2. To install in Photo 2, assuming the plugin installer created C:\ProgramData\Affinity\Photo\1.0\Plugins\ProDigitalSoftware correctly, you would: Start Photo 2 Open its Settings, and click on Photoshop Plugins. Click on Open Default Folder in Explorer Copy the ProDigitalSoftware folder into that default folder. Make sure you have "Allow Unknown Plugins to be used" checked. Restart Photo 2. The Filter should then show up in the Filters > Plugins menu. Astrogeezer Posted October 15, 2023 Author Posted October 15, 2023 Thanks for helping me out, Walt. I seem to be having the same issues loading StarSpikes. What should I try next? Quote

Why are you trying to Open the .8bf file? That's not at all what I suggested doing above. You just need to move it into the proper plugins folder; it's not a file you edit with Photo. Or you need to add the folder that has the plugins to Photo's list of plugin folders. https://affinity.help/photo2/en-US.lproj/pages/Filters/plugins.html Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
