Bit Disappointed Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 macOS Sonoma 14.0 and Designer 2.2.0 + 2.2.1 release candidate 3 Now, I am tired and struggling with a fever so my concentration could be weak, but this is not working as it should, right? All these elements have a white fill colour, same value. Select the door only. Select -> Select same fill color. Only these objects are selected: Select one window from the third row from below. Select -> Select same fill color. Only these objects are selected: I see only this fill color value whatever object I inspect, so what the duck? Select same fill.afdesign Quote I simply no longer believe that there are any professional graphic designers here. Everything follows suit. Just everything.
Staff NathanC Posted October 14, 2023 Staff Posted October 14, 2023 Hi @Bitarts, This has come up before with a separate user file in the thread below and is possibly caused by a rounding error occurring in the background which isn't visible in the UI. If you manually select the objects, change the colour panel to RGB Hex and then press enter in the RGB hex field it should fix this, as after doing this Select same > fill is working as expected. I'll add your file as another example and bump the existing issue with your report. Bit Disappointed 1 Quote
Old Bruce Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 Part of the problem is that you have two rectangles in the same location overlapping. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Select same... is also a method I don't like to use for much of my work. Serif can solve so many problems for the meticulous or professional customer by implementing true graphic styles that would put Designer in a whole new league. Your screenshot of Colour panel shows the padlock enabled to the left of HSL. That will cause a conversion from any non-HSL colour definition to HSL to be displayed in the panel. The padlock must be disabled for the true definition of a colour to be shown when an object is subsequently selected. HCl and loukash 2 Quote
Bit Disappointed Posted October 15, 2023 Author Posted October 15, 2023 Ah, I may have switched to my favourite HSL along the way. Well, Serif, if there is no way around the colour space technicalities, it would be really helpful to turn up the usability and notify the customer that different colour spaces are in play in the document that may affect the outcome of 'Select Same'. There's real potential for what I experienced to happen again and again with customers. "Furthermore, I consider that true graphic styles must be implemented." Staff Affinity Info Bot Posted October 18, 2023 Staff Posted October 18, 2023 The issue "User File - Select Same > Fill fails to detect other objects with the same HEX applied (possible rounding error?)" (REF: AF-527) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.3.0.2083". This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release. Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions. If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us. Bit Disappointed 1 Quote
