Pixelplucker Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Much of my work is spot color. If I create anything in Affinity I am unable to export the files out with pantone spot colors. All exports from PDF or EPS are converted to cmyk and pms colors are lost. I use Corel for separations but despise the softwares instability in newer versions. Am I missing something here on my file exporting? Thanks Quote
Staff NathanC Posted October 14, 2023 Staff Posted October 14, 2023 Hi @Pixelplucker, As far as I'm aware exporting to .EPS with spot colours retained is not currently supported within the Apps, however you should be able to export to PDF and retain support colours so long as 'Honour spot colours' is enabled within the PDF export settings under 'advanced'. If you're exporting with this export setting enabled and they're still not being honoured in the PDF, could we perhaps take a look at your .afpub document (or a small sample from it)? Many thanks Quote
Pixelplucker Posted October 15, 2023 Author Posted October 15, 2023 I can't seem to be able to open a pdf in corel that has been generated from publisher. Says file is corrupt. Opening those pdfs in Draw Plus lose the spot color info if it had any. Did a search in the code for Pantone or Spot in the pdf and it doesn't exist. example file.zip Quote
MikeW Posted October 15, 2023 Posted October 15, 2023 You need to uncheck the Use Advanced features or some such setting when you click on the More button. That setting is near the bottom of the dialog box. Then CD will open the pdf. Pixelplucker 1 Quote

Thanks Your Affinity document is using a Pantone process colour, not a Pantone spot colour. Some of the Pantone palettes contain spot colours, while others contain process colours.
