Gianni Becattini Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 After detached, is it possible to delete all the master pages or it is necessary to delete each of them one by one? Thanks Quote www.k100.biz
MikeTO Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 I'm not sure if I understand your question. You can only delete one master page at a time with the Pages panel because there is no way to select more than one at once. If you want to remove multiple master pages from a page, you can apply a new master page and replacing existing which will remove all of the other masters applied to it. You can also Edit Detached and delete the master page layer - if you want to delete multiple master page layers you would need to select them in Layers one by one and choose Edit Detached, then select all of the layers and click the Delete icon. Gianni Becattini Posted October 13, 2023 Author Posted October 13, 2023 Thanks for your reply. I have documents with few pages that no longer use master pages and hundredth of master pages, with styles inside. I would clean-up but I understand it is not easy. 10 documents x 100 master pages = days to work... Quote www.k100.biz
Old Bruce Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 I too do not understand what you are wanting to achieve. Are you wanting to remove Master Pages A, B, and C from a bunch of Actual pages? Have you perhaps moved something out of a Master Page and onto anActual page(s)and now wish to remove the Master Page from Page(s) ? 2 minutes ago, Gianni Becattini said: Thanks for your reply. MikeTO Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 The best I can come up with is this. Create a new document of the same dimensions Choose Document > Add Pages from File, select the original document, and add all pages to the new document This will import the pages and the required master pages but will not import the unused master pages Good luck Old Bruce and Oufti 2 Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.6 for macOS Sequoia 15.5, MacBook Pro (M4 Pro) and iPad Air (M2)

Gianni Becattini Posted October 13, 2023 Author Posted October 13, 2023 Wonderful! But I have not the Delete Masters function Quote www.k100.biz
MikeTO Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 @anto That is a neat trick. It's a bit difficult to know which masters will be deleted but if you select a master it will be in order from that master on. There is no need to edit the shortcut for it though, you can just use the menu command directly. FWIW the menu command is named Delete Master on macOS but Delete Masters on Windows. Odd. The shortcut editor will show Delete Pages when a page is selected in the panel or Delete Master when a master is selected in the panel. Gianni Becattini Posted October 13, 2023 Author Posted October 13, 2023 Thanks Mike, but for me it is not so. The Delete command just deletes ONE page and the shortcuts don't change even if master page selected (see picture). What am I doing wrong? Quote www.k100.biz

For those who might still be having problems with this, on at least my Mac the Master page must have the focus (so it has the grey 'focus' outline in the Pages panel). If it just shows the blue 'selected' outline & some document page has the grey focus outline the menu will say "Delete Pages..." & Master pages won't be affected. MikeTO Posted January 4 Posted January 4 I am still seeing this command and dialog in the latest 2.6 beta on macOS. Create a document Go to a master page Choose Document > Delete Master... On Windows, is the command present and enabled? Does it open the same dialog as in 2.5? There is no Number of pages: option I see that in both the Mac 2.5.7 retail & 2.6 beta versions. In both, the window is not titled "Delete Master Pages," just "Delete Master." I'm not even sure "Number of Pages" makes any sense here. Did it really delete multiple master pages in the Windows retail version, & if so how did setting a number decide which one(s) to delete? So it seems this was a feature only of the Windows 2.5.x versions? Anyway, I think it would make more sense to implement this as a list with checkmarks for each master one wants to delete. Anyone agree? Gianni Becattini Posted January 4 Author Posted January 4 No, there was formerly. I used it on Mac. The only way to remove master pages in group is as Mike suggested to create an empty document and import. Quote www.k100.biz
