Make a beautiful layout in Publisher, do not save, decide that Designer might be better. Choose File > Edit in Designer.
Designer first wants an update, klick ok. The beautiful layout has now vanished from the planet, that hurts.

Always save your work! I learned this the hard way.

Admittedly, there should be a prompt to save an unsaved document before starting an update. This is worth a feature request.

I would say it's worth a bug report.

When transferring files between the applications, the target application should omit the "check for updates". Losing the data instead is an error.

Thanks for your report @Luc(as) and we're sorry to hear this document was lost.

I can confirm this is already logged as a bug with our development team - I'll be sure to update this log and 'bump' this with the team to bring it to their attention once again.

I was just hesitant to call it a bug since I never read anything if that is by design. Anyway, moderators confirmed it is a know bug, so we can look forward for a fix.
