Text flow has a rogue backwards arrows and text has disappeared

Recommended Posts

Hi All you clever people, I'm afraid I have caused a problem for myself.

My V2 Publisher file, which should have considerably more text in it than is currently showing, has "developed" a backwards text-flow link and a lot of the text has seemingly disappeared.

It seems to have happened when I tried removing a "rogue" backwards text frame link (which has also instantly re-appeared but the text hasn't!)
Hopefully from the below image you can see what I mean?

I am suspicious of the additional "tram-lines" running down the outside of the right hand page, along with the problematic arrow which seems to have decided that the text should flow from the right hand page back to the left hand page. This is the only page out of 232 that has the "outer" tram lines, which I note that the red arrow has connected itself to.

(I am not saying this in an "accusing" way towards the software, just trying to apportion blame away from myself being the muppet that has done something wrong!)

My text started on the right hand page underneath the CHAPTER 01 heading, but I have moved the text that was remaining out of the way so that the arrows are clearer for you to see!

Hope this is enough information to go on?

Also I can't seem to find how to turn on "codes" like in Word, which I have seen in some support pages.

Thank in advance

Hi, it looks like there are two frames stacked on top of each other on the right side of the spread. One is linked backward to the frame on the left side which is linked forward to the other right side frame, and that one is linked forward to the frame on the next page. Try making the frames half height for now, one at the top and one at the bottom, so you can figure out which frame is linked to which.

It also shows overflowing text but hopefully once you sort out the order of the frames you'll find it again.

Cheers
