AD2.2.0 Time zone issue?

When I export a PDF and include the printers marks and page information, the time is not correct for my location.

I expected the time that the export happened, or is that too much to ask

I am based in Quebec, Canada.

There is a problem here. Publisher 2.2.0 thinks my timezone is GMT instead of GMT - 4. . Publisher 1.10.6 has it right. This is

@Sid J are you using Sonoma? I did a lot of testing on fields when I documented them for the Publisher manual I wrote and I tested every date and time combination. I wonder if it broke with the Sonoma update.

How are you getting the Fields panel to show GMT and GMT-4? I only see EDT or nothing as a possibility on Windows.

That's what it's always shown on macOS. It's currently 4:33 pm EDT (GMT-4) and it's showing as 8:33 pm GMT. So the time is right, it just has the wrong timezone. But when we print, the timezone is omitted and there's no way to get it to show the time zone.

Yes, Sonoma is my OS.

 

Looks like no TZ offset.

Thanks for your report @Sid J & the further testing conducted by other members in this thread!

I can confirm this appears to be a macOS Sonoma only issue, as I cannot replicate this on Ventura, but I'm seeing the same issue on our M1 Sonoma MBP.

Therefore I'm getting this logged with our development team now.

I did this with MacOs 15 Sequoia and AFF PUB 2.5.5, but the error is back again. Now 2 hour prior... 16:00h will be printed as 14:00h.

It's been more than a year. I haven't experienced any other timezone issues with Sonoma *knock on wood*, I've only observed this behavior in Publisher 2. I'm not sure what is specific to Publisher 2 that is causing its understanding of the time or timezone incorrectly, but is there not a way that a manual timezone selection or some sort of custom offset be included so we can at least manually ensure that what gets exported is actually accurate, until there is a fix from Apple?

This issue is still logged with our developers and I have bumped the report with them.

The issue "Time zone offset is not detected on macOS Sonoma, causing Document Statistics and exporting Page Information to be incorrect" (REF: AF-681) has been fixed by the developers in the latest beta build (2.6.2.3187). The fix is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
