Scenario (applies to Publisher V1 and V2; I can't find any reports of this in the forum):

  1. Create a document with a Master Page.
  2. Create Guides on the Master Page.
  3. On a document page, you will see the Guides, in a dashed form.
  4. Right-click on the Master Page layer in the Layers panel, and Edit Detached.
  5. With the Move Tool, try to drag/move  the Guides.
  6. This actually moves the Master Page's Bounding Box (why does it have one at all?) and the propagated Guides, leaving the Guides (and Bounding Box) mispositioned.

Thanks, @Return.

Using Edit Linked is also odd, as the changes made via the bounding box do not affect the Master, nor other document pages.

I tried it on macOS and it doesn't do that, but we've never been able to edit master page guides while editing detached. But there's a new bug in 2.2.

  1. The Edit Detached bar covers up the horizontal ruler - it didn't do this in 1.10.6 so it's an unfortunate regression. You can sort of interact with the ruler underneath - you can't drag out a guide but you can click the edit detached bar and then click again to place a guide
  2. In 1.10.6 if I added guides while editing detached they were added to the document page and worked normally just like adding, moving, and deleting guides when not editing detached. In short, editing detached didn't impact guide editing at all. In 2.2, if I add a guide while editing detached they don't stick - they are created but as soon as I try to move one it automatically deletes itself. Not a big deal, I wouldn't edit document page guides while editing detached anyway.

  1.

We do already have this logged and it was reported via email, which would be why you can't find references to it here on the Forums.  I've updated the report :)

I'll get that logged as it doesn't appear to be an issue we are aware of.

I'll confirm if this behaviour is expected or not with QA and get it logged if needed :)
