I have the same issue that Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer are crashing or not working, I have tested all option then been suggested in this thread and this started today when I just opened Affinity Designer and go down to "Open Recent" that I normally do.

When I start app it look normal, I can click on "File" and see the drop down menu but as fast as I move the mouse cursor down each option like "Now", "Open" are turned invisible, if I click try where the option should been I do sometime crash and sometime nothing happen at all.

I press "Ctrl-N" and then click on "create" and it start a new document, but I am not able to select my template or anything else, when I do this I can draw and create layers and I can use "Ctrl-S" to save but I am not able to use the menus. If I try to rescale the app it move in two steps and then get stuck for some few seconds and then just force close.

I can press "Ctrl-O" to open a file, but when I open an existing file it sometime have all tools grayed out and I can not select anything, but sometime I can work as long as I do not use the menus, rescale the window or move the app so it snap to the sides of the Windows 10 desktop, and I had no update of Windows or Nvidia between when I last worked in Affinity Designer (Snapped to 50 % of the screen in windows) and today.

I use the version "V1.10 8ab56", I could see that when I press "F1", is I try to rescale the "Affinity Designer Help" window it crashes but keep Affinity Designer running.

Replying to selfe: I found my problem.
I updated all my programs and Windows and the problem did not go away, so I removed all programs from Windows Startup Apps, when I restarted I saw that "GPU TWEAK III" and that I had same problem, so I used Task Manager to do a "End Task" on this application and this time Affinity Designer ran as good as it had been doing up to a day ago, so I could finnis my personal work with "GPU TWEAK III" disabled. After that I tested to change some settings and it look like a OSD (On Screen Display) was causing this or alternative an Aspect Ratio settings in this program.

I hope this can be to help for other users and that no one is mad that I did scream BUG before I had tested all options, and a great thank you to the moderators for the post correction.

Had this issue for the first time today with both V1 and V2. Updated all device drivers but it still did not work.

Turns out that it was indeed GPU Tweak that caused it. I disabled it and now Affinity Designer works again.

Thanks for this @KennyLex!
