Looking for a filter for "graphic novel", "comicbook" type effect

Recommended Posts

I am a new Affinity user, after many years on Photoshop. I would really love to find a filter that can output this style of image (a "graphic novel" or "comicbook" type effect, see below) from a more-realistic photo or drawing. I have no idea what to look for, or where, because Affinity uses different terminology than I am used to (calling image files "documents", for example, still throws me most of the time).

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

There is the Gmic plugin for Photo. You can check out their image gallery to see if anything piques your curiosity. Not sure if the Image Gallery / Artistic / Novel FX would apply in your case.

https://gmic.eu/gallery/artistic.html#menu

If you decide to install it, be sure to follow the instructions.

I'm certain others will be along that know a lot more than I do.

That is a remarkable resource. Thank you. I will see if there is something close to what I am looking for. :)
